BAADER will present its latest seafood processing innovations at Icefish 2026.
Towards 100% Fish: Integrated and modular technologies help processors utilize more of every fish and create additional value from co-products.
Innovation made in Iceland: Developed and manufactured at BAADER’s Kópavogur site, the new BAADER 189 Pro advances the company’s proven whitefish-filleting technology.
Responsible processing: Intelligent stunning and hygienic processing solutions combine high animal-welfare and food-safety standards with premium product quality.
At Booth B30, visitors can experience integrated equipment, solutions and services developed to address the evolving requirements of seafood processors across species and throughout the entire value chain.
Under its “Solutions on Demand” promise, BAADER will demonstrate how close customer collaboration, local expertise and a broad technology portfolio come together to deliver solutions tailored to individual processing environments. The technologies presented are designed to improve efficiency, product quality, sustainability and profitability while enabling processors to respond flexibly to changing production requirements.
“Iceland is a market defined by outstanding seafood expertise, a strong drive for innovation and the ambition to extract the greatest possible value from every resource,” says Baldvin Johnsen, Managing Director BAADER Iceland. “The BAADER 189 Pro is an excellent example of how our local engineering expertise and close partnerships with customers translate into innovations for the global seafood industry. Developed and manufactured by our team in Kópavogur, the machine combines a proven technological legacy with the performance, efficiency and flexibility processors need today.”
Solutions Designed Around Customer Needs
BAADER’s modular processing concepts enable seafood processors to configure and adapt their operations according to species, capacity and automation requirements. At Icefish, BAADER experts will be available to discuss visitors’ individual objectives and demonstrate how integrated technologies and services can support both current operations and future growth.
A central part of BAADER’s presence in Iceland is the dedicated local team working to support customers in Iceland and across international markets. This combination of customer proximity and local manufacturing enables BAADER Iceland to turn operational insights into practical innovations.
BAADER 189 Pro: Icelandic Innovation Built on a Proven Legacy
A key highlight at Booth B30 will be the BAADER 189 Pro, the latest generation of BAADER’s renowned whitefish-filleting platform. The machine was developed by BAADER Iceland and is manufactured at the company’s facility in Kópavogur. Its advanced processing capabilities enable the BAADER 189 Pro to handle even soft fish with precision and minimal waste. This helps processors increase raw-material utilization and profitability while consistently maintaining premium product quality.
Animal Welfare Meets Premium Product Quality
Animal welfare and premium product quality are integral to BAADER’s innovation strategy. The BAADER 101 and BAADER 102 percussive stunning systems demonstrate how intelligent processing technology can reduce stress while supporting Ikejime-certified quality. Each fish is measured individually, allowing the systems to adjust the relevant processing parameters automatically. This ensures consistently effective stunning results, which have been confirmed through EEG testing. Fish that do not meet the required criteria for size, orientation or positioning are redirected unharmed to a manual station. This intelligent approach combines operational efficiency with high animal-welfare standards and reliable product quality.
Next-Generation Hygienic Processing
Food safety will be another central focus of BAADER’s presence at Icefish. BAADER will introduce significant enhancements to the BAADER 144 Pro, including a next-generation hygienic design that is fully prepared for automated Clean-in-Place processes.
Repeatable, automated cleaning procedures help reduce bacterial loads compared with manual cleaning and improve hygiene consistency across production shifts. At the same time, processors benefit from reduced cleaning-related downtime and greater process reliability.
The BAADER 144 Pro also reflects the company’s modular design philosophy. Independent processing modules can be configured for different salmonid species and varying levels of automation, enabling customers to develop a solution aligned with their specific operational needs.
Towards 100% Fish
Across its technology portfolio, BAADER is pursuing its vision of “Towards 100% Fish”: maximizing the responsible utilization of every raw material. From precise gutting and premium-quality filleting to the efficient recovery of valuable co-products, BAADER solutions help processors create greater value throughout the production process. High-quality co-products can be transformed into a wide range of renewable, value-added products, contributing to improved resource efficiency and more circular production practices.
Expert Insights at Icefish 2026
Nils Rabe, Global Sales Director BAADER, will complement the exhibition program with two conference presentations:
• On 22 September, he will discuss how animal welfare and modular processing technologies can support sustainable growth in the aquaculture industry.
• On 23 September, his presentation, “Enabling Technology for Full Utilization,” will examine how quality-driven processing and the optimization of co-products can maximize the value of seafood raw materials and contribute to sustainable profitability.
